The Effect of Prayer on the Human Body
By : Dr Noha abo-krysha

Revised By Magdy Abd Al-Shafy
In fact , prayer is a strong connection to God . In prayer , one can find many meanings that beggar description , man can find out the basic reason behind his existence . Allah the Exalted says in the Holy Quran what means :
{ Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction} Sura Arraadverse28
God also says in the Holy Quran what means :{78-Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their testimony. 79-And pray in the small watches of the morning: (it would be) an additional prayer (or spiritual profit) for thee: soon will thy Lord raise thee to a Station of Praise and Glory!} Sura Al-israa verses 78,79
Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say , when somthing distress him : (Oh Bilal(the prayer caller ), call for the prayer, relax us by it) [Sunan Abi Dawud]
The Scientific Study
It has become clear , through the results of several studies, the great effect that prayer and devotion have on brain stability and mode of function, and it has also become clear that several changes occur in the body ;among these is the effect that happens during blood systematization to certain parts in the brain
prayer effect on cerebral activities
This research was carried out by Dr. Newberg, the assistant Professor at X-Ray division of the Pennsylvania University Medical Center, on a group of faithful people who have faith in God , practice their prayers and come from different religious backgrounds.
This as done using Single Photon C.T. scan that shows the flow of blood in the cerebrum using colors which are based on brain activity where the color Red represents high activity and Yellow and Green represent low activity.
The First Image
The image shows the brain before meditation and prayer(on the left) and during prayer (on the right) where we see that during the envolvement in prayers and meditation, blood flow has increased , frontal lobe region is responsible for controlling emotions and agitations in humans and a region also important for the acquisition and practice of complicated percetion-movement abilities.
Terms used in the image
Baseline: normal state without meditation
Meditation: as name implies
The Second Image
The image shows a a blood flow decline in the the Parietal lobe at the region where humans sense their time and space limits. It was concluded from these results that during prayer, contemplation and seeking Allah, the limits of self-conciousness dissapear and a feeling of peace and freedom starts in the person and one feels closer to Allah in a way that no words can describe.
Verses from The Quran
Many are the verses that talked about the importance of prayer (Assalat), devotion and praise Allah the Almighty. The Quran has made a link between patience and prayer to make sure one does not get agitated.
Allah The Exalted Says in the Holy Quran what means:
{Nay, seek (Allah's) help with patient perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit} SuraAl-Baqara verse 45
There are other verses that linked between prayer and tranquility.
Allah The Exalted Says:
{When ye pass (Congregational) prayers, celebrate Allah’s praises, standing, sitting down, or lying down on your sides; but when ye are free from danger, set up Regular Prayers: For such prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times.} Sura An-Nisa verse 103
{Successful indeed are the believers , Who are humble in their prayers} Sura Al Muminun verses 1,2
Results
It becomes clear after these verses of the Noble Quran and scientific studies the importance of prayer in the life of the faithful, and the importance of devotion and glorification during the application of those prayers. From here the wisdom of Islam is apparent in focusing on the danger of ceasing to do the prayers.
If experiments show stability of the brain during prayers for non-Muslims who don’t even read Al-Quran during their prayers, How then is it when one prays to Allah and reads the Book of Allah? Undoubtedly the stability will be greater.
We remember this noble verse that confirms the importance of the channels of communication towards Allah, ie ,piety, submission, heart purification, and putting things in Allah’s command.
Allah The Exalted Says in the Holy Quran what means:
{Be guardians of your prayers, and of the midmost prayer, and stand up with devotion to Allah.}
Sura Al-Baqara verse 238
Let us remember also the supplication of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him)
My Lord! Make me to establish proper worship, and some of my posterity (also); our Lord! and accept my prayer.
Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents and believers on the day when the account is cast.

Awareness Of God Opens Doors to Places
You Never Thought You Could Grasp and Existed”

This is now the time for an Islamic Rennaisance – Awakening Brilliance in The 21st Century. Each one of us and for the benefit of our nation and of the generations to come should move forward towards the upliftment of our intellect being. Man should not just focus on his entirety of being on earth but also focus and seek the realms of spirituality for the attainment of success in the hereafter. Let us all walk on earth as God’s Light illuminating brilliance in all areas of our lives.
The Islamic Rennaisance is a completion of awakening brilliance through spirituality, Prophetic guidance and Light from the Holy Quran. Man should no longer fear to reflect and ponder nor should they depend on what is brought forth from their ancestors blindly without thinking. God gave us the faculty of the mind to think. This Islamic revolution towards spiritual growth is the most important aspect for today’s generation for they should take up their objective in life and a cosmic responsibility in upholding the truth. This is their responsibility to correct and gain adequate knowledge, understanding, guidance, motivation and ability to prevent the manifestation of evil. We have a choice. Good or bad.
"That He might cause Truth to triumph and make Falsehood vain, despite the aversion of the guilty." Quran 8:8
"And say: Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished! Verily, falsehood is ever bound to vanish." Quran 17:81
By consciously aware of God’s presence and gaining knowledge of this life and the hereafter one is able to lead a life in this world pure and holy, peace and harmony and each one of us walks the path of righteousness with a higher faith thus creating a life filled with God’s unfailing abundance. With knowledge, man rise up from poverty to power. God’s gift to each one of us is so unique. Open your mind to large ideas and eliminate the bondage that hold you back towards achieving prosperity in all areas of your life.
IT is now the time to awaken and enlighten our soul rather than locked up into habits of evil. Do not limit your thinking and take actions towards gaining as much knowledge you possibly can within your reach and capabilities. Never stop thinking about the miracles of God’s creation. Never limit your reflection of life. The key to prospering all areas of your life, and what God has for you, is to unlimit your thinking. The way to do that is to give more time in remembering God and to be in quiet seclution with God. Unify your whole being with the vastness of God's rich provision and infinite love.
With Allah, all things are possible beyond grasp. In the silence of your own soul ask for forgiveness and repentance and ask that your thinking and acceptance be greatly expanded. Whatever good you conceive God is always there to fulfill you because God is Power and Might. God is within and around you as an unfailing source of all that is good.
It is the responsibility of all brothers and sisters in remembering Allah and cultivate good thoughts and actions as derived from the attributes of Allah, Love, Beauty, Kindness, Harmony, Order, Justice, Peace. Free ourself from the bondage of evil that is based on hate, greed, war, poverty, laziness, self centered, envy. We must all endeavour to be free from illusions and obsessions of this life.
"And not alike are the good and the evil. Repel evil with what is best, when lo! He between whom and you was enmity would be as if he were an intimate friend. And none are granted this power but those who possess patience and self-restraint, and none are granted it but the owners of great happiness. And if a whisper (incitement or interference) of the Satan should cause thee mischief, then seek refuge in Allah; surely He is the Hearer, the Knower." Quran 41:34-36
O mankind, truly We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Truly the most noble of you, in the sight of God, is the most God-conscious. Quran 49: 13
The rule of this life is you must first prosper in all areas of your life. You cannot help the poor if you are poor, you cannot help those in need if you yourself is in need, you cannot help others to rise from lack to abundance, from war to peace and from hatred to love if you yourself is full of lack. So rise up generations towards power by attaining knowledge. Recite, ponder and contemplate the Holy Quran for in it is full of wisdom and light. You will insyaAllah be the light illuminating brilliance in this life and the hereafter!
Live life lovingly...................sallina
This words are excerpts from the book The Science Of Allah – Secret of Creation by Sallina Ismail. Please forward the above message to all. Let us all rise from lack to power beyond the vastness of infinity because each one of us has a gold mine. Dig it out...Emerge from lack to abundance of knowledge and wonders so that we can help others who are helpless. IF NOT WE THEN WHO???

The Purpose of Life
By Khaled Yaseen
Brief Description :
Khalid Yaseen delivered this lecture in Saudi Arabia in 1994, which resulted in 43 persons accepting Islam on that very night.
Khalid Yaseen embraced Islam in 1965 and is currently the Director of the Islamic Teaching Institute in the USA. He specializes in a variety of topics and areas including: Youth, Islamic History, Culture, community development and Dawah work. He has lectured in a variety of places and locations both nationally and internationally and has been the means by which a large number of non-Muslims have reverted to Islam
Extracts from the lecture:
I am honored to have this opportunity and I would like to begin by saying that all of you have an equal responsibility. That responsibility is to listen with an open heart and an open mind. In a world filled with prejudice and cultural conditioning, it is very hard to be able to find people to take a moment to think about life objectively and try to arrive at the truth about this world and the real purpose of our lives.
Unfortunately, when you ask most people the question: "What is the purpose of life?" (such a fundamental and important question), they will not tell you what they have concluded through observation or analytical reasoning. Rather, in most cases, they will simply tell you what someone else said, or they will tell you what is "commonly presumed" by others, i.e., What my father said purpose of life is, what the minister of my church said the purpose of life is, what my teacher in school said, what my friend said, etc. If I ask anyone about the purpose of eating or why do we eat, everyone will say [in one word or another] that it is for nutritional purposes, because nutrition sustains life. If I ask anyone why they work, they will say because it's a necessity in order to support themselves and to provide for the needs of their families. If I ask anyone why they sleep, why they wash, why they dress, etc., they will answer with appropriate answers, for these are common necessities for all human beings. We can follow this line of questioning with a hundred questions and receive the same or similar answers from anyone in any language from any place in the world.
Then I ask you the question: Why, when we ask the question, "What is the goal and purpose of life?" that we get many different answers? It is because people are confused; they don't really know. They are stumbling in the dark, and rather than say, "I don't know"; they just offer any answer they have been programmed to give. Think about it. Is our purpose in this world simply to eat, sleep, dress, work, acquire some material things and enjoy ourselves? Is this our purpose? Why are we born? What is the object of our existence? What is the wisdom behind the creation of man and this tremendous universe? Think about those questions.
Here I would like to mention a few verses from the Holy Quran that address this subject. We seek the protection of Allah from every evil thing. Allah mentions to us in the Holy Quran, "And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is over all things competent. Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding-Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire." Surah 3: Ayahs 189-191
Now here in these verses, Allah draws our attention to the creation of the heavens and earth, the alternation of the night and the day, the creation of the universe. HE calls our attention to their creation and their precision, and mentions those who contemplate the wonders of creation and realize that this was not created for any foolish purpose, [that Allah is exalted above doing such a thing] and they seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell. Truly, when you see the design of all that Allah created, you realize it is very powerful and very precise. Something very powerful and very precise; something beyond your own calculation and imagination, cannot be foolish.
My dear respected brothers and sisters, we have to ask ourselves a further question. When you see a bridge, a building or an automobile, you automatically consider the person or company that constructed it. When you see a large ship, an airplane, a rocket, a satellite; you also think about how incredible it is. [You know by its design who the maker is.] When you see a super international airport, nuclear plant or an orbiting space station you have to be thoroughly impressed with the engineering dynamics that are involved. Yet, these are just things that are manufactured by human beings. So what about the human body with its massive and intricate control systems? Think about it.
Think about the brain: how it thinks, functions, analyzes, retrieves and stores information, as well as distinguishes and categorizes information in a millionth of a second, all of this constantly.
Think about the brain for a moment. (And don't forget the fact that you are using your brain to consider itself!) This is the brain that made the automobile, the rocket ships, the boats, and so on. Think about the brain and who made that!
Think about the heart. Think about how it pumps continuously for sixty or seventy years [taking in and discharging blood throughout the body] maintaining steady precision throughout the life of the person.
Think about the kidneys and the liver and the various functions they perform. The purifying instruments of the body that perform hundreds of chemical analyses simultaneously and also controls the level of toxicity in the content of the body. All of these are done automatically.
Think about your eyes, the human cameras, that adjust, focus, interpret, evaluate, discern color automatically, naturally receiving and adjusting to light and distance.
Think about it-Who created them? Who has mastered their design and function? Who plans and regulates their function? Human beings do this? No, of course not. What about this universe?
Think about this. This earth is one planet in our solar system, and our solar system is one [of possible many] solar systems. Our galaxy, The Milky Way, is one of the galaxies. There are ONE HUNDRED MILLION GALAXIES in the universe. They are all in order and they are all precise. They are not colliding with each other. They are not conflicting with on another. They are swimming along in an orbit that has been set for them. Did human beings set that into motion and are human beings maintaining that precision? No, of course not.
Think about the oceans, the fish, the insects, the birds, the plants, bacteria, and chemical elements that have not yet been discovered and cannot be detected even with the most sophisticated instruments. Yet each of them has a law that they follow. Did all of this synchronization, balance, harmony, variation, design, maintenance, operation and infinite numeration happen all by chance? Do these things function perfectly and perpetually also by chance? No, of course not. That would be totally illogical and foolish. In the least, it indicates that however it came to exist-it exists beyond the realm of human capability. We will all agree to that. The Being, The Almighty Power, God, The Creator who has the knowledge to design and proportion created all of this and is responsible for maintaining it. HE is the only one that deserves praise and gratitude.
If I were to give each one of you one hundred dollars for no reason, just for being here, you would at least say thank you. What about your eyes, your kidneys, your brain, your children, and your life: Who gave you all of that? Is He not worthy of praise and thanks? Is He not worthy of your worship and recognition?
My brothers and sisters, that in a nutshell, is the goal and purpose of this life. Allah said to us in the Holy Quran: "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." [Surah 51: Ayah 56] this is what the Almighty said.
Our purpose in this life is to recognize The Creator, to be grateful to Him, to worship Him, to surrender ourselves to Him and to obey the laws that He has determined for us. It means worship is our purpose in life. Whatever we do in the course of that worship, [i.e., the eating, the sleeping, the dressing, the working, the enjoying,] between birth and death is consequential and subject to His orders. But the main reason for our creation is worship. I don't think anyone who is analytical or scientific will have much of an argument with that purpose. They may have some other reason with themselves-but that is something they have to deal with between themselves and Almighty God.
Alla(GOD)
Allah is the Creator of all thats is in the heavens and the earth. Allah is the True and only Creator, and only He deserves to be worshipped. nothy else is worthy of worship; not stones, statues, crosses, the sun , the moon, star, temples, animals, saints, priest, movie stars, football stars, or religious poeple. All of those are created beings and worshiping them is associate partners with Allah and this is the only sin which wont be forgiven on the day of judgement and will condem a man or women to hell forever.
Allah is the Arabic word for God and its is the personal name which He gave Himself in the Quran. The Quran is the last and final revelation to mankind from Allah , which He gave to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the angel Gibrail (jibreal) The name "Allah" is unique because it has no feminine or masculaine form (unlike god and godes). The name Allah simply means "Th One and Only True God".
The name "Allah" has been God's name since the beginning of time. In the torah its Elah or in some case Eloh (Elohim-. It was also used in the language spoken by Jesus (alayhes salam) called Aramaic.
The Creator (Allah) has perfect atributes. He is the first; there was none before Him and He is the last. Allah is ever living. Everything will die except Allah. He is the Protecting friend and to Him is our return.
Muslims know that Allah does not have the characteristics of poeple, animals, or any created thing. Thus Allah does not need children or any partner unlike us humans.
The simple message of Islam is to realise and believe that God(Allah) is one. This was pure message has existed since the first man Adam was created. In fact we can see both moses and Jesus also taught this message to their poeple Moses called onto his poeple "Hear O children of isreal: THe Lord our God is one"Deutronomy ^:4 (English-KJV) also that of Jesus who taught and reprimanded his desciples ; "Why does though callest me good?.There is none good but one, that is, God" (Mathew 19:17; Mark 10:18; Luke 18:10 (english KJV)) and Allah says in the Last and final revalation:
"Your god is one, there is none who has the right to be worshiped but He, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful"(2:163)
"Allah! there is no god but He the living the Self-subsisting Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.
